Mornings, in Lost Ridge start with a Kakhetian sunrise and cooking in the kitchen. The house ladies set the tables for the guests and start preparing breakfast. Many guests have mentioned that the breakfasts at Lost Ridge are especially delicious. And that’s true. Besides that, hosts greet you with a heartwarming welcome and they cook with the food for guests with same intentions, the product itself is special, it’s local. As Ia Tabagari spoke to us, the founders of Lost Ridge worked their ways trough local mentality on business relations in the village and manage to establish working partnerships in Qedeli. All suppliers were asked to register as small and individual entrepreneurs, so that they could purchase products from them by money transfer, as business. This is not the only victory for the Lost Ridge, but it’s the important one of many.
After breakfast, some people prefer horseback riding, over strolling in the city. Lost Ridge Ranch stall can hold 15 horses. Every one of them has its own nickname and identity, along with funny stories. One of those, is Hipata (The one that gets in troubles), a beautiful brown stallion (male horse), that gets in random troubles all the time. Another is a horse that is called Peace of Vanilla Cake, because of its snow white color and extremely kind nature; you will also meet a small Tushetian horse – Kujai, it was introduced to us by 19 years old, horse riding tour guide, Nika Bichinashvili. He and Giga Kharkhelauri, were the ones to host us in the Lost Ridge Ranch.
To see everything on the Lost Ridge area, you will have to go through several different small, charming yards. It is these scattered courtyards and adjoining houses are the pearls of Lost Ridge architecture. Hotel consists in total of 8 rooms, some of which are the architectural heritage of traditional Kizik stone building. These few rooms are, in fact, old Kizik huts, the conservation of which was decided by the owners of Lost Ridge. As well as horses, these huts have their own nicknames and stories. One of them is called – Firuza (shade of blue) for example, because of the blue elements used in this huts interior and exterior. In this hut, there are also old illustrations on the walls of the bedrooms, which seem to have been left from its first inhabitants, and the story of the paintings was forgotten until now. There is also a hut named Archeology _ as Ia told us, house was almost buried under ground and they had to dig it out themselves.
There are days, when celebrations, weddings and receptions are held in the huge courtyard of Lost Ridge. There are also days when bonfire is lit outside and an interesting dialogue takes place between the gusts.
For interesting dialogues sake I must mention of the founders of Lost Ridge, Ia Tabagari – Chairmen of Georgian Incoming Tour Operators Association since 2007, horseback rider and ethnologist. If you will be lucky enough to meet Ia while your visit in Lost Ridge, ask her about hotel, Ranch or Georgian tourism, even already implemented projects. You will be amazed how much you’ll find out.
In the Evening, tired, you can head straight to the terrace and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by aunt Lia and Marika. Add some locally brewed beer to the hearty prepared meal and you are good to go.
The brewery is arranged exactly in the space next to the hotel. Lost Ridge beer technologists are Shota Lagazidze and Dato Usharauli. Particularly interesting in the existence of this beer is not that it is already being exported to Japan, and yes, it is being exported; But also that the brewery space is a place of successful experiments.
Have you ever tasted Tushetian Snow Rose (Rhododendron Caucasicum), pomegranate or cherry Beer? Or maybe you heard two- year- old beer? And have you ever seen a naturally pink Beer?

Lost ridge is a place where pleasantly spent time will turn into precious memories; Because of the beautiful environment, the horses, Delicious beer and most importantly welcoming hosts.
